Tech question... LCD TV woes
Hmm, strange one this.
Last night, my Phillips FlatTV (forget the model number, but I'm pretty sure at this point it's irrelevant) was working fine.
It was turned off softly (power switch on side), left on at the wall socket as we always do.
This morning, turn it on, and there's sound, but the display isn't quite right. There's vertical stripes down across the entire width, each maybe 2-3 pixels wide. These change colour whenever the picture that should be on the TV changes. There's also approx 4-5 horizontal lines that are about 1 pixel wide, randomly spread out down the height of the screen.
So far, my thoughts are incorrect voltage being supplied to the LCD controller (maybe a blown capacitor in the PSU), or the screen needs re-torquing. Both are jobs I should be able to sort out, thankfully.
Ideas anyone? (Queue K "hit it with a hammer").
