Coolant Level
I've just changed the coolant in my '99 curvy 's following the procedure in the Haynes manual. After flushing out the system, I decided to premix the quantity specified in the manual (ie 50% water and coolant - total 1.6litres). I then followed the procedure and filled the radiator to the bootom of the neck and ran the bike to allow the air to come out, revving it a few times, then went to top up the expansion tank.
When doing this I only put a small ammount in the expansion filler, and was watching for the level on the bottle when the filler overflowed, I was pouring slowly, but there is no visible level on the 'clear' part of the bottle. I ran the engine again with the rad cap on to get any air out again and the level is still near the top of the neck but I can't see anything on the bottle. The coolant is bright blue!
Is it likely to just be the plastic which is changed over time so is no longer see through? I have around 250ml left of the mixture. How acurate is the quantity listed in the Haynes manual? Is the level likely to be OK? The level is still up to the bottom of the rad filler neck.
Should this be OK?
