IMO, across the broad spectrum of bike owners throughout the world, you will always find someone who has had a bad experience with X motorcycle brand/company and someone who has had nothing but a positive experience! Just look at Triumph 675 forums!
I know what happened with Cloggsy, but it wouldn't put me off considering/buying a KTM TBH.
