I agree with Larry, if you want to know the true speed the easiest way is to slap on a sat-nav they are accurate with within +-0.1 mph, so you'll have a true reading and most remember top seed in trip info. When I had my curvy S back in 99-01 I saw 122 true speed on the flat and 126 on a slight decline.

Mind you yesterday when I picked up my wife's naked pointy from Swansea and came over the head of the valleys with a tail wind I did see an indicated 191 at one stage LOL.

I think the main asset of the SV is that the power is accessible, it doesn't feel fast or scary, you're not stopping for fuel every 100 miles and point to point you can make progress as quickly as many more powerful bikes. I know I wouldn't have got back from Swansea any sooner on my CBR.
