Ok, I am not after new hobbies or things to fill my time (have plenty of them already

), so not looking for alternatives, just its a bit sad I am loosing interest completely in bikes (after all this time).
I went on that .org French trip/rideout about 6 weeks ago ... although were it was all done in 1 day, it was really tiring
(the Pompy to euro tunnel and back bit was the killer!!) it was still a great day out

... I'd go again, but then I'd do the same thing if it were in a car to be honest ... it was the scenery/company/unity that was the important thing, not the fact I was on a bike ...
Ok, so like relationships, its prolly better to just step back for a bit rather than force the issue ... the latter will only end in resentment!! ... so that is it ... bikes and me are official 'on a break'!!
Jayneflakes - although I'd like to have a go at trad climbing, I still have a lot of fun sport climbing, I don't feel I have done enough sport climbing to need to take the next level yet. If you came to Portaland, you can always 'trad' a bit next to my sport climb and we could race each other up*!!
*To stand a chance, I'll have to make sure your climb is significantly harder by the sounds as you are much more experienced climber than I
