A bit too dear IMO, ?2000-2200 would be fairer.

Fender extender is pretty much a must have if you'll use the bike in the wet. For the SV the official hugger is 90% aesthetics and only 10% functionality, IMO (not that there's anything wrong with that- I have one on my bike). It won't be due a big service (valve clearances) for another 10K miles.
