Power is useable, I didn't abuse the throttle because i didn't want to loop a demo bike... i did manage WOT a few times and the speed pile son really quick. Once above 6k and settled (if you know what i mean) you can then give it some without feeling it'll throw you off... which tallies up with that torque curve above.
I have to say.... with more than 120bhp it would be easy to loose the licence quite quickly. A squirt in second gets you from 40-80 really quickly. change into third and use all the revs and you're getting close to a ban. In that respect the SV650 is a nice bike because you can use 100% performance more of the time.
