Funny isnt it. I'll cycle at 30mph or more sometime in a pair of cycling shorts and a cycling top. which have zero gravel rash protection, but I wont ride my GSXR across town at 30mph without my leathers on... even I think I have double standards !!!!

DD & Kitkat, can you not offer her this as a compromise.

You buy her dragin jeans, she rides all year round, she gets wet if it rains and she doesnt moan at you about it. Or if she doesnt want to ride in the rain she pays to get the bus instead. If she decides she needs textiles later on, she pays for them ? I dont know what her money / job situation is like so I dont know if that would work though.

I dont know your daughter, but at 16 I thought I knew everything and my parents were wrong all the time. It took a few hard lessons before I realised that I didnt and my mum and dad were actually giving me good advice, perhaps getitng cold and wet on her scotter in the winter is a lesson she needs to learn for herself ?
