my thaughts were, hey the speedo looks the same, wonder if it is, had a look on ron ayers, and the part numbers are ooooh so close, e.g. 650 is 34120-17G80 and the 1000 is 34120-16G80. so my reconing is that the sensor is designed to work with the speedo. supose the only way to tell is to try and track down a second hand sensor and try it as mock up first.

me and my bro had a discussion on this very subject about a week ago and i couldent get my head round it, till he said back wheel, front wheel, back sprocket, front sprocket, it makes no odds they are all relitive to the speed at which you are doing its just a matter of getting the pulse right.
