I'm not keen. Don't like the harsh light they produce. New ones seem a bit better than the old ones though.

We have quite a few 50w halogen downlighter thingies. The semi skimmed ones are awful but I've dioscovered chavtastic LED ones in B&Q. Not cheap at £9 for 2, but they use all of 1.2w each. So almost 1/50 of the leccy used by the normal ones. Even though the LEDs are white, they emit a sort of blue light. You can get blue ones too - they'd be very very blue...
