I've always liked the Adventure version - but didn't have the extra money when I bought the GS - and I wasn't sure how good it would be for road use; but, with the pay rise i just received (long overdue I might add !!) I can now afford one.
I was looking to swap my 06 GS for the new improved 08 GS - but, when I looked at the price difference against the GS Adventure (this time I was going to pay extra for wire wheels as opposed to the standard alloys anyway) it was less than a grand - so having had a test ride around the back lanes of Kent on Saturday I decided that its as good (if a little bit heavier round corners because of the 33l tank) as the GS on the road - so I went back to the dealer yesterday, negotiated what I think is a good deal & bought it !!
