Re: Changing the front subframe - what will I need?
its pretty simple to be honest.
You will need
4mm allen key (Fairings (Dont remove the screen just the 2 top bolts)
6mm allen key (Mirrors)
Philips screwdriver
a small flat blade screwdriver to push in the pins under the nose
8mm spanner(to remove clocks)
10mm socket/spanner to remove the headlight (I think)
13mm socket to undo the front subframe.
Take pictures as where the loom runs and whilst you are there replace the instrument lights as they will go and whilst its all apart you might as well whack 3 new ones in there. Also give the plugs etc a clean out to stop corriosion.
What to do
Remove fairings sarting with both sides, then the nose cone. There are 2 screws in the front 'Air ducts' and 2 plastic pins underneath (Push centre in until it clicks)
You will also need to remove the mirrors. Remove the covers (Philips screw driver, then the 6mm allen key on the 4 allen bolts)
Then remove the clocks. 8mm spanner
Then remove the headlight
Then remove the subframe.
As i said remove the top 2 screws but leave the bottom 2 on the screen and remove the nose with the screen attached.
