if someone is arrested for something...in this case assualt...and released without charge, do you not think its fair to take that persons DNA and run it against a "wanted" DNA database? even tho they are innocent of this particular crime?
thats what this sounds like....can only go by personal experience
a number of years ago a 12yr old girl was raped on some wasteland near to were I grew up.
it was on the news one night not long after it happened and i was in the pub with friends and friends of friends. when this was shown one of them jumped up and proceeded with all the usual "if i knew who it was id kill em" "its sick" etc etc....
a few yrs after this....that same guy who stood up shouting at the tv was arrested after a fight in city centre, his DNA checked and low and behold, it turns out it was HIM whos DNA had been found on the girl that night.
Im all for it, if u have nothing to hide whats the problem for the greater good?
