Thanks for the reply. A quick mess about on google maps came out with THIS route

The waypoints are not necesseraly places where we want to stop just a way to get it to include some nice mountain and coastal roads.

This is 1900 miles so if we get the ferry from Santander or Bilbao back the total would be about 2000

I have just been reading the post on the trip you made. Looks like you had a good time, making me even more determined to get the most from the trip.
