I'm from the Winchester area as well,

I did pretty much the same thing you are doing.. CBT..125cc (for about 6 weeks...my missus wasn't happy that I only kept it for that long!)...DAS... then SV650S

I have not regrets about riding and making my mistakes on the 125cc except for the financial cost of it, but I know what you mean by getting overtaken when you can barely push it 55mph. seems like some drivers see the "L" plate as green light to overtake or undertake you at the most dangerous places.

Ive been commuting into Winchester town for the past month on my SV650s and the fairing definitely helps keeping the wind and a bit of the cold off you.
