My (honest and non-confrontational ) question to you then, if you discard parts of the bible, do not believe in the christian god, is why are you christian at all? I know enough about it and I think we'd both agree that without an already morally sound person to teach it the bible is a dangerous text. A newcomer to our world (who can read and understand our language) would be very confused, and often appalled.

Is it necessary to engulf a lesson in morals in the quagmire that is christianity and the other parts of the bible, if after all is said and done you do not actually believe in their god?

(You can just say yes ). I'm not judging anybody, and I don't really want to appear to be challenging your religious beliefs even though that's just what I'm doing
If you have faith and feel happy about it you won't mind I trust.
