The generator cover is itself painted, so I wouldn't use white spirit etc.
http://www.softscrub.com/ - buy some of those pads, go for a run on the bike so the engine is warm, use warm-hot water and lots and lots of elbow grease.
It does work, I've had to get the same stuff off the car following a minor detour. It wasn't me driving.
So come on, spill, how'd you manage to get road line paint on the generator cover, and why don't you want to post pics of it?
