Default Re: Fitting a clutch for the first time. (In Process, Curvy 99)

Ok, i'll answer this

Throw the EBC plates in the bin. I didnt take this advice and i had nothing but trouble with my EBC plates. Buy the overpriced suzuki ones.

Dont worry about the notches at all. My old basket was quite notched and in the end it wasnt the problem.

Sealing the clutch cover back on is one of those hit and miss things. I have had mine off a few times and todate i havent had to use sealent of any kind. Some poeple hower, have, so its trail and error.

I ended up changing EVERYTHING in my clutch and it turned out to be the EBC plates. I replaced them with a used set of suzuki plates, with the rubber bands, and all was well again. No drag, a little squeal (mainly because the steels are worn and the plates were oldish) but no drag, and smooth changes.
