An oil conforming to JASO MA is tested for use with wet clutches. So that's pretty much all bike oils.

I've always used fully synth, and my clutch has never slipped. From miles under the wheels I conclude that the pub "experts" don't know what they're on about.

OTOH, if you use a totally different spec of oil to that specified then you have no grounds to whinge when it doesn't work as specified.
