What do you mean a SV set off at 3K and a IL4 at 6K guess You mean you rev up and slip the clutch?
Anyway there is no point arguing I guess, its rare you have a razz of the lights and the difference is not great enough to matter in real world.

Its not realy shorter is it, only compared to a IL4 but remember the IL4 still has more revs than a SV and it revs up quicker.
Its higher geared and engine has more torque at any given revs than a IL4 at the same revs, if the SV was geared like a IL4 the bike would only do 25mph in 1st gear.
A ZX-10 has loads of torque, its gears are set so it will give near to 90-100mph in 1st gear, still does not mean it cant beat a SV.
