My parents are off to nothing more than a Haven Holiday site in Devon on Friday with my little lad. Nothing special just a week away for my dear old dad to have a rest by the sea.
He also celebrates his 60th birthday while they are away too.

So, between me and my mum we organised for me to appear on Sunday, bearing the other surprise that we had in for him too. A nice thing to do being all of 289 miles on my tod!
Then it occured to me, what if they don't like bikes on site. So I got my mum to ring them. They don't!!!
So I called to enquire as to why. The lady said she wasn't sure, so she'd put me on hold and find out. She came back to me with the excuse that they have a 10mph speed limit, and if I wanted to come on site I'd have to push the damn thing to wherever my parents were on site

I said to her, I'm 5ft 8 and weigh 10 stone do you think i can really push a 650 bike half a mile round the site, full of luggage? Well those are the rules. Its not as if I'm bringing the Hells Angels to descend on you, my vehicle does do 10mph, and will likely to do less damage at 10mph to a small child than a car( more to me in fact). Well it is a family site she said. I just told her, thanks to the rules of the site, she just spoiled what was a family event, and saved me a 289 mile trip only to be turned away.
I think this is such a discrimination, its actually rediculous, I knew that some places did this, but never come across it on the whole, never mind just for one sole rider
