Default Re: First FAST bike ride

I have had many moments on bikes, like a few serious tank slappers on my TL, one where I lost rear tracktion, in the cold, the rear tire went sideways, I was up in the air looking down at the bike, and somehow I landed in the seat, though while I was looking down, the bike was sideways with both wheels off the ground, as if it was laying on the floor, but it saved itself somehow.

Another major Slapper on the TL was on a curved slip road leading onto a big A road. A While cranked over a friend overtook me on the outside, I was not having any of that so I went from constant throttle to giviving it some gas as I was appoaching the exit..though, I did not see a big dip in the road, and the TL wheelied while I had some good lean, then the bars snatched themselves from my hands. Somehow again the bike sorted itself out. That was my first ever tank slapper on my TL, prior to that I wondered what all of the fuss was about.

As for other bikes, well I went from a 125, and had a go of an 99 R1, which was the first big bike I had ever ridden. I mangaged to find a stretch of road, and nailed it in 2nd to the redline, that was awsome, but I would never call it scary. A few years after, my TL was off the road, a friend needed me to move is ZX12R which at the time he was selling. He also had a Turbo K4 GSXR1000 and the 12R was no longer fast enough for him! lol We was on the M11, at about 6am sunday morning. I had not ridden for a while and was just taking it easy. There was nothing on the road at the time, and my friend decided to blast off on the turbo, I just took the bait, kicked it down a few gears and redlined the 12R....Wow it was fast, but so smooth and stable, not scary in the slightest.
