So I decided to update the springs in my forks.
When I took the dust covers off to have a look I found that water had got in and the circlip had coroded a lot. So I thought that I may as well change the seals on the forks (and the dust covers).
Everything was going well, took the spring out, got rid of the old oil (which was black). but the top part of the fork was stuck in the bottom.
was not sure what to do as I thought this was ment to freely move, so I took the damper rod bolt out (using the broom handle technque) and found that the damper rod seat was stuck in the top part of the fork, and I meen really stuck.
I think I can get it out, but was wondering if this should be replaced as the Haynes manual makes it sound like this part should not get stuck and should just fall out.
