Default Re: Removing point tank

Right, seeing as I've done it several times whilst my tank gets new cloths, I can tell you it's easy!

You need a long socket, I think 12mm. Take off the front seat and side panels, prop the tank up and then, under the arch at the top of the frame on the right side, you'll be able to get the socket onto a bolt you can see on the side of the hinge unit you described.

Undo it and draw the very long bolt out. Tank off, voila!

The fuel feed is a press fit, squeeze the two tabs in and slide pipe off. The two breather pipes are different sizes, so you can't muddle them up. There will be an electric plug to undo aswell.

I siphoned off the excesss fuel and donated it to Mrs BP's car!

If you need a hand, give me a shout!

Pete

The fuel pump must be left in, the painter will mask it off.
