I really wouldn't advise you use one of those. You could get done for fraud if you tried to use it in the event of a claim and they're not just going to take your word for it that the restriction is still in. I guess if you wrote of your bike so it couldn't be tested, they'd just look for the restricted ECU part number.
As Dave numbers said, your licence only entitles you to ride a bike with power output of <25KW, which translates to 33BHP (at least I think that's how it works), so if you're riding a bike with 35BHP, you're not legal. You'd have to be able to prove that the dyno was over reading.
Which insurance company is this that's making you show proof? How much are you paying (if you don't mind me asking)? Just wondering if it's really worth staying with this company as it sounds like they'd do everything possible to get out of paying for a claim you make. MCE didn't ask me for proof (or a mate on his gixxer, old one to be fair

). IIRC YC was with Carol Nash when he was restricted. They didn't ask him.
