very simple way to test your starter, Just get a set of jump leads connected to a car battery (still in the car is fine
), connect red to car battery + terminal then red to the SV starter motor terminal, it will likely have a rubber cover over it. Then black lead from -ve on the car battery, touch the other end to one of the starter motor mounting bolts (make sure the bike is in neutral before attempting this).
Very likely the starter will spin up just fine.
It'll be a weak or knackered battery.
