Question Regulator/Rectifier replacement

Hi all,

I am new to the forums as a member, but have gained a lot of good
knowledge from the people here in the past, so a big thanks for that already.

I have been riding a 2001 curvy (in red) pretty much ever day for about 5
months now, but unfortunately it has now died a little bit.

To cut a long story short I have diagnosed it as having a failed
regulator/rectifier (AC from alternator is >90V at 5k RPM, battery was
swapped, voltage on battery is <12V when bike is started and decreases at
higher rpm, the RR itself failed the multimeter test in the manual).

I was wondering if anyone knows whether I can use a RR from a zzr-600,
considering that it has 6 wires but none of these wires seem to be a voltage
control for the alternator as I was led to believe the 6th wire normally did.

Failing that, does anyone know of a RR that will work and doesn't cost the
£60-70 of an OEM one?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Alex
