Default Is there any point in getting a Fireblade?

I passed my test in July last year and bought my SV in December. I have done about 6000 miles on it since then and am reasonably happy with it. Although I have got no-where near the limits of the bike I have started to find it's weak points and am thinking of maybe getting something different for next summer.

First though was a 600 sports bike like a GSXR or CBR 600 but after wasting another night shift trawling through bike reviews etc I came across the 954 Fireblade.

This bike is lighter than the SV and also a lot of 600s from the same era. It looks amazing, doesn't seem any less comfortable than the SV and if I save over the winter and get a good price for the SV I Could probably afford one. Even the insurance isn't too bad.

Now my questions are what difference would I notice? Obviously the Fireblade would be quicker but it will only go quicker if I ride it quicker or am I going to find myself with too much power and popping wheelies and spinning the back wheel all the time?

Is the handling that much better and will it make me a better rider as I will be more confident going into turns.

I know a lot of people will suggest putting a GSXR front end on the SV but I can't really be bothered with that.

Also I know I need to test ride one but I probably wont find the answers I am looking for in a half hour ride.

Cheers
