I really got in to
Jesu a while back and they are awesome, very dark and doomy, but with an edge that I find strangely uplifting.
This is another good one.
Another band that I just adore are
Neurosis, who are frankly amazing. Try
this one for heart rending, bleak and fantastic music.
Other bands I have really got to love recently have been
Godspeed You Black Emperor and
Mono. Both bands are unusual and have a heaviness that is just awe inspiring. I think they were given the genre of Post Rock, but that does not mean much to me, I just loved the soundscapes they create.
