He's not.
There's a locating lug to stop your switch gears spinning round. Afraid I don't know the dimensions, but it's a faff to do and I was not looking forward to doing when I was swapping my bnars, but when I received my replacement switchgear from an orger they've failed to mention the lug had been snapped off

this actually worked out for the best as I used a YC tip and wrapped the bar in leccytape and secured the switchgear on, Filed down the other switch gear's lug and did the same on that side. Never budged.
p.s FG1 if you still want to drill the bars mentioning what bike it is will help anyone give you the info you need. Assuming it's a naked 650, I'd guess they're the same on all models but could be wrong.
