I mean come on, most modern bikes have some kind of warning, even if its a blinky light, and the older ones without have a fuel tap, activation of either should be a "get to the petrol station ASAP" alert.

So why is it that people see these warnings, look at the trip counter (if fitted) and then say "its ok I've got another x miles" before I need to worry.

I can see the point if you are short of cash, but due to get some within that estimated period but otherwise...

At this time of year, the trek to the petrol station to get a can of fuel to the trek back is almost certainly going to be cold, and more likely wet, add to that the possibility of dark and its not going to be fun.

So, everyone, dont get left sitting at the side of the road, or risk hypothermia, keep your bike topped up.
