Re: Ripping CD to media player
As Viney says.....
When you say you changed the names/titles, do you mean the file names or the "tags"? Tags are semi-hidden data attached to the file which some programs use to identify files as linked etc.
I'm not sure how it'll work with what you're trying to do, but for my Garmin satnav it's only the tags which matter, the file names aren't used. I found some ripped CD's only tagged the first track, the others all disappeared from teh album on the Garmin and were listed in "unknown".
When you've ripped the CD, go to the saved folder in your music, right click on the track you want to change, left click on properties, then summary, and you'll get a window up which has the "tags" for artist, album, track name etc. You can select and edit the info (left click on the text in the "value" field) in these fields in the normal manner. If you want to change the artist/album info for all tracks in an album, simply right click on the album file and do the same process, obviously you don't want to name all the tracks the same.
There are progs around which enable easy batch renaminng etc, Mediamonkey is a favourite though I haven't used it personally, I only deal with a few albums at a time and Windows will do it.
Note that to get things right you often have to ensure the tags are exactly the same, upper case, spaces, hyphens etc all change it, so copy&paste is often a wise choice.
