Re: Problems fitting Blueflame exhaust
Thanks for the replies.
I have tried every which way to rotate the link pipe - I think the only way you could get it to align correctly would be to move it higher than the rear peg. This is because as you rotate the pipe it eventually hits the bottom of the peg but the rear of the exhaust does start to look right.
I think the comment regarding Blueflame knowing about the problem is probably right. The chap I spoke seemed keen to do something but he didn't fill me with confidence. He said they would not sell anything that wasn't fitting correctly. I told him the pipe needs a further 10 degrees of bend and he gave me the impression they might make what I've asked for. He said it was a problem when a new model year comes out because they haven't got the facilities to buy a bike just to check the fittings were correct.
I'm quite prepared to try and get this pipe bent or cut and welded at the right angle and then let them fabricate a new one - or should I send it back and get a Beowulf or similar. Am I likely to get the same problem with other makes of exhaust with this K8 SV?
By the way you couldn't live with it the way it fits at the moment - it sticks out by more than 2 inches compared to the stock exhaust. The baffles are all still in place as I've not run the engine with it on yet.
Cheers - Steve
