Yes, it will, that was the original idea for corsets in the first place!
Oh and they do men's corsets too (not at the shop I go to though unfortunately)

Ooooh dear, I hope not!
A corset should push everything upwards for a cleavage to die for! (although if you have moobs Darren, it may not be a good idea )
The muffin tops can be prevented by ensuring the correct design of corset is chosen for your body shape.
Darren, can you post up a recent pic of said belly and I can advise you correctly
