Then buy a proper GPS!
I have the Nokia N82 and used the GPS on that for my old bike. It wasn't great. You can turn the phone side-on and the display shifts 90 degrees - which is handy when looking at a landscape photo....but every time I turned a corner on the bike the GPS attempted to show me my position side-on. And it would take around 10-30 seconds to get a grip and turn the display back.
The maps aren't great outside of western europe, either.
...and there's a subscription for getting directions.
Also, to mount it on a bike you'd need a special, waterproof case, which can be found online for £20-30 - but you won't always be able to see the screen clearly thru' the clear-plastic front.
The GPS is only really useful as a pedestrian to navigate thru' cities - or for a car owner to attempt to locate where they have parked their car!
Of course, that's just my opinion that you are free to ignore.........at your peril ;o)
