Firstly I'd be surprised if it were much quicker in a straight line than your Pointy, Badger.
They only have 90 ish horsepower and a bit more weight, but the riding position which gives a better view of the road and the superior brakes would mean more confidence, especially on the nadgery welsh roads.
Servicing costs won't be as high as the water cooled Dukes but they still need belts every 12k/2years and the dry clutch will wear out quicker than an SV one. The quality of the parts and design (if it's anything like the 996) will make ownership a pleasure, but there might be a sneaking suspicion that the SV does everything the Multi does for a lot less money.
