Default teeth filling, structural engineering

OK, I have just shattered yet another filling on the way home. I thought things were going too well in my mouth.

Well, I cut my tongue on a sharp bit. tried to eat some dinner and cut myself again. So a good look in the mirror. There is a sharp bit doing all the damage stuck up. so a bit of emery cloth. doesn't dent it.

Out with the little snips to crop it off. No chance of cutting through. Strange, I thought filling was quite brittle. (Well mine are) suddenly what ever it is comes away. It is a bit of steel wire about 1/16" of an inch in diameter.

Question, is my dentist a structural engineer and is using rebar to give his work extra strength. I know his foundations are deep. I am just glad he doesn't pile my roots before he files them
