I keep losing a cylinder on my k5 :/

Started happening on Saturday morning, infrequently, and now it's happening alot. Comes out of no where, and goes just as quickly so I'm thinking electrical - also has kicked up the error code C24 (Ignition signal #1) so have cleaned the contacts on the coil pack and checked internal resistance, which is fine (3.5ohms).

Does this sound like my coil pack is on the way out? Are the coil packs known for being a bit crap? Bike has done 34k and afaik is on it's original coils. Plugs were changed 500 miles ago.

Any other suggestions on things to check?
