They applied and went throught the whole process of counciling and classes etc..
The whole process from start to finish took a little under 2 years.
Now I know that security and safety of children is very important and that the people being vetted are being so for the future well being of the child at hand but with the process taking so long people will look abroad where the vetting and security red tape will be less stringent.
Joe is just over 3 years old now and has really hit the jackpot when it come to having new parents.
The sad thing is though, that he wasn't even a glint in someones eye when Harry had started looking to adopt.

Yes, its a very long process to go through. I know of 3 couples who have gone through the mill to adopt, incl a very good friend of mine who hopefully will get his 2 adopted children this month.
What they have to go through to get approved is beyond belief, if you take into account the type of parent and background that the kids have come from.
But from what I've seen its only a good thing for these kids in the long run
