Hi Guys & Girls, first of, its nice to be a part of the SV family

I brought a SV650S pointy (55 plate) yesterday. It has 4700 miles on the clock. The chap I brought it off also has a Yamaha Fazer 1000 and so the SV hasn’t been used for a while, but it runs sweet.

I have a number of question about serving, and thought who better than to ask a bunch of SV owners. So here goes.

The bike had its 600 and 4000 mile service done by the dealer (dealer stamps in Service record). Looking at the owner’s manual it says that the coolant and brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years and the fuel hose and brake hoses replaced every 4 years. Any advice you guys can offer on these, as the bike is now over 4 years old and I don’t know what work was carried out on it.

Also what brand and type of oil what you guys recommend to use with the SV650, for when I do need to do an oil change in the future?
