If anyone has any slight concerns over their eyesight then I can`t stress enough the importance of having an eye test.
For the last few months I`ve been thinking that my eyesight wasn`t as good as it used to be and I do seem to have some trouble driving at night. It wasn`t a major concern and I could`ve quite happily left it but I thought I`d best go and get them checked.
What a shock!!! Within the first 2 mins of the test the optician told me that I shouldn`t really still be driving
Apparantly my vision is so poor that I`d fail an eye examination on the driving test. It appears that one eye has been getting me by with my driving and even that eye doesn`t have fantastic vision.
It`s a horrible feeling to think that I could have been involved or more importantly caused an accident due to the fact that I was ignoring some nagging concerns over my eye sight. That horrible feeling will hopefully help me to get used to the fact that I will now have to wear specs when driving/riding but I think it`s going to be really hard to accept that I have to wear them for reading and close up work too.
So in future if you see me riding with my specs just ignore me cos I`m gonna feel embarrassed
however all I can say to anyone who has any minor concerns is GO GET THEM TESTED!
