BTW, I should be clear (as there has been mention of it), and if Mrs G reads this she will shoot me for under-rating her career (and her degree), but she doesn't work in a nursery (although she has worked in them, and managed them), she works in a childrens centre -Sure Start, and is courting managment roles in that environment.
She's worked hard to get that far at an early age, so I don't want to discredit her career or efforts. That said, anyone who helps with the development or education of children and/or families, particularly those who struggle, deserves respect. I'm proud of what my wife has achieved in any case

It seems a bit odd in hindsight (thinking I was in my mid 30's then), but I remember proof reading her dissertaion on the UN convention on children's rights. I think it did a lot to anchor my opinion of her as a good person and a great future Mom(Mum).
