Increase Subs vs Increase Numbers
Organs - I'd like your opinion on something.
I am the treasurer of a sports club. The club is at the point financially where the above decision (or a mixture there of) needs to be made. There are a few reasons for this, but ultimately we have had a number of people leave (all for personal reasons) in the past 2-3 months and thus our monthly income has dropped to a point where the club is going to struggle to meet its requirements.
Question is simple. If you were a player paying £20/month subs and are half way through the season, would you entertain a price increase? Or would you expect the committee to source solutions that mean current costs are maintained? It should be noted we are already quite a bit cheaper than most other clubs and we did warn the players we may have to increase subs this season.
We normally run a membership of 30 for a squad size of 15. Team selection is handled via a points system, i.e. the more you contribute/train etc the more points you get and thus the more eligible you are. This brings with it a whole different ream of issues, but does seem to work.
Answers on a post card please.
