I know what yo mean about the surfacing mate its Kirklees's method of resurfacing.
Roll out some hot DBM sread chippings over it, give it a novetly roll and f'off leaving the cars to do the work for them. In about 4 weeks a road sweeper will come to clear up the crap still hanging about, many many roads in our area are in the same state currently.

Not fun riding at all, thought about giving them some **** myself because anything on 2 wheels might as well be riding on ice and nothing on 4 wheels seems to drive anything other than the normal speed limit (and above).
