The common theme here is that there was a total lack of respect for a Learner Riders Safety , something that , as you can see , has not promoted a sense of good will . Now with all the hindsight in the world it is quite easy to say "should have done this" . I had exactly the same experience myself a couple of weeks ago with the added Bonus of a car on a side road waiting to join the carriageway and also coming out of a bend . I agree that the roadcraft of some riders is less than fantastic but there is at least one good thing to have come out of this and that is some sort of experience Maria ...... not the best I grant you , but a survived experience that has ingrained itself in your mind .
Now , I may have mentioned this over the weekend (so many bike stories and so much "Woo-Woo" consumed) but when I do an overtake I do it in a manner that puts no danger to others and I can spend a fair bit of time in factoring in my arrival before I actually commit myself ...... my main point being is I consider others well before I consider myself , When I finish that overtake I also slot in to the left to allow anyone else that has followed me to slot in on my right in case they Gnarls it up due to a rather fast approaching Audi in the opposite direction

.
Now you have been on many rideouts with some rather pleasant folk who generally like to get on well and from time to time may have some hairy (and sometimes Woolly) moments . Now I saw something back there in one of your replies Maria and it showed something that took me a long time to learn . My inital response is anger , followed by some choice words along the lines of "hunting you down and doing some unpleasantries to you and your Mother" when this sort of thing happens but you replied with something that made a hell of a lot of sense ............... that is to get over the initial shock and then let it go . Concentrate on the job at hand in the meantime which is to make sure you are fine . LOOK AFTER NUMBER ONE . Adrenaline will surge and that sharpens the senses a shed load , that is to keep you alert for more Danger that is imminent .... and trust me , don`t waste that time in retaliation (not that you did , just some general advice) stay alert , keep on the ball and make sure you are fine and be safe .
Even to this day it is Human nature to want to persue and do nasties ......... takes a strong mind to take a deep breathe and let it go and eyeball the area around you to make sure there is no further danger . Then you can hunt them down on the internet when you get home
