Default Re: Racism in the UK in 2011

Genuine Question,
When playing football last week I got polaxed - it was actually a fair tackle, certainly no complaints by me. Yet the bloke making the tackle felt the need to instruct "Whiteboy pussy, Get up". This caused zero reaction from me as we were already winning convincingly with little time left to play, I simply put it down to stroppy git syndrome.
Move on a few minutes and the final whistle blows, shaking hands etc at the end and when I took the refs hand he pulled me in and said "Im glad you didnt react to his insult, it'd have been a massacre", whilst gestering to the side of the pitches where many more asiens were grouped.
My question is, Obviously the ref heard it - so why wasnt anything done?
Things to consider, we're in Bradford and the venue had about 30% white, the rest of coloured persuasion.
we were playing a 100% asain team
They generally bring a group of spectators to thier games.

And another question for the mighty org:
Clearly the remarks made by the player were racially motivated,
Clearly the ref was aware,
However imagine I reacted, slotted him one. I ask you who gets to ride home in the car with flashing lights on? (assuming of course the massacre doesnt occur where we'd have all left in ambulances).
