I'm not so sure he left out the words that he thought might be deemed offensive or inappropriate, the kids in his class then filled in the gaps themselves. Well according to the BBC article anyway...
I had teachers at school who pushed the boundaries of acceptable behaviour, our maths teacher used to swear like a trooper especially if we were messing about and not doing what we were told. He was one of the best teachers I ever had.
The point I'm trying to make is sometimes you learn more from a teacher with an unorthodox approach than one the rigidly teaches from a plan / from a book all the time. I suspect this teacher was just trying to inject a little fun into his lesson.
