Is your SV a curvy model or pointy?

Flat out in top gear on my pointy is 8.5k rpm @ 104mph (Indicated). It won't pull past 8,500 rpm in 4th, 5th or 6th but will in the lower three gears. I'm assuming the power drops out because that's what I got told when it was put on. It certainly feels like the power drops off at that RPM range though.

EDIT: Also, my temp changed all the time. Only really stays at a constant temp if I'm on a dual carriageway/motorway.
