You won't scare the pants off yourself with a 955i anyway, it's so tractable you can ride it between 3000 and 8000 revs all day long and it's just like riding the SV between say 6000 and the red line. It's a pussy cat, which will turn into a rabid monster, but only if you ask it to.

(though I am talking Daytona 955i here, never ridden the Speed Triple, though I think they are the same, maybe a different engine map)
