not sure if anyone else has posted this but do most sane rational thinking people take "job seekers allowance" as an allowance of money for when you are seeking a job?

I thought you had to go to the job centre to look for work and present evidence to show that you had attended interviews etc.? I'm all for a bit of help from the state when things go tats up, but 10 years seeking a job - it's not a game of hide and seek with the invisible bloody man?
